Hotel Astoria Residency

Comfortable to stay with family. Staffs are so co operative and provide all the facilities. I recommend those who wants to visit it's better to stay in Astoria Residency.

The hotel is in a good location near lot of PoIs. The rooms are medium size and comfortable and very well decorated. The room has lot of amenities and the staff were helpful.

Small details like tissue paper, water dispenser etc and customer friendly staff, with updated local news.

Hotel should have a restaurant and the name is slightly misleading with chain of hotels Astoria Kodaikanal and Chennai. A very safe place to stay for family.

This stay was located at the centre of the town. So the tourist places were easily accessible from this place. The room was spacious and staffs were very kind. We had booked family suite for 3 days and the view from the room was really good.

Only thing which bothered us was the hot water supply. We faced issues with the heater the first day of our stay but then it was rectified and resolved by the staffs. But the restricted hot water supply only from 7 am to 11 am and 7 pm to 11 pm was difficult for us in a very cold weather. This could be improved by the hotel.

Astoria residency was overall good.

Time management - check-in was at 1pm and they couldn't provide anything as per our requirement for 8am check-in. Check-out was 11am with no breathing space to ensure that everything is packed. I would appreciate it if they had a spare place to refresh and keep our luggage till the check-in time. Also, the cab service is very poor.

Suggested for families who wanted to stay at prime locations. They had tissue paper access in the room, 20L water in the room, etc.. on the last night of our stay we had a situation where we needed the bedspread to change at 3.30 am, they did for us which was very helpful.

No major complaints as such. Would be better if they provide hot water access round the clock. Also like everyone said it's good to have an in-house restaurant, but we did order for tea at room service every morning and didn't take much time to deliver either.

Excellent service. The staff at the reception as well as those providing room service were prompt and courteous. Location is at a walking distance from main market and a couple of other tourist attractions in Ooty. The rooms are well maintained and clean and they are cleaned by the hotel everyday. Plastic is banned in Ooty but the hotel has been kind enough to provide large water flasks in every room to cater to the guests. They have paid minute attention to details like having tissue paper dispensers in each room.

No in house restaurant is the only drawback. While Swiggy and Zomato deliver to the hotel and the boy at the reception delivers right at your room, morning tea and coffee can get delayed. Especially if you are habituated to early morning tea or coffee. But no complaints on the overall service.

This property is in the exact spot!Ample space for parking and rooms are very neat and clean. We booked for 3 nights and everyday staff used to ask for cleaning requirements voluntarily. Amazing staffs and everything is reachable in 2-3 kms radius.

Rooms are not good. Stuff behavior was not good. Especially the front office guy. Overpriced and good to avoid.

Only the Room Space

Bathroom was not that expected clean and maintained well. They will provide only hot water in between 7AM till 11AM. This point will be highlighted only after you make the payment or check in. With the Ooty weather it would be very difficult to maintain with cold water. This is ridiculous. The things like kettle, sofa are not maintained with cleanliness. If you ask them to do the room cleaning then they will just clean but they dont bother to replace bedsheets. They have shown bathroom with music but that doesnt work and also full of rust inside the bathroom.Had been to same residency 7 years ago and expected the same has been maintained but it's not. Too much rude response from the receptionist and also they ask us to pay half amount after the reservation or else booking will be cancelled.

View from the window is nice and location is also good

We didn't received our complimentary breakfast. Felt like insecure because we inferred there are hidden cameras in our room.
